Senator Obama struggles to a second place finish in the Florida primary

Tonight Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY) proved that she is competitive as she trounced Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) and former Senator John Edwards (D-SC) in the Florida primary. With 74% of the Democratic vote being reported (10:00PM EST) Clinton has won 50% of the Democratic vote compared to Obama’s 33% and Edwards’s 14%.

Senator Obama has won the endorsements of huge figures in American politics, such as Massachusetts Senator Edward Kennedy (D-MA) and his niece Caroline Kennedy, who is the daughter of President John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy; but their endorsements seem not to have aided Obama in Florida.
